The Board University series was developed to provide information and skills to both current board members and individuals that want to serve on a nonprofit board. It's also a great series for Executive Directors and staff that need to understand more about the roles and expectations of board members and how to keep them engaged.
Those who attend all eight sessions will receive a certificate of completion.

Creating Strong Board-Staff Partnerships - April 5, 2023
It’s important for the nonprofit board and the Chief Executive to work together well but for that to happen each needs to understand their roles and how they should complement one another. Learn how to create those strong working relationships.
Engaging the Nonprofit Board in Fundraising - May 3, 2023
Every nonprofit board member should be responsible for helping the organization to fundraise and there are many ways to get engaged in assisting with fundraising. Find out what nonprofit board members can be doing to assist and how to get them to do so.
Understanding Financial Statements and Financial Responsibilities - June 7, 2023
Board members that serve on nonprofit boards are legally responsible for the finances of the nonprofit organization. Learn about your financial responsibilities and how to adequately read those monthly financial statements so that you understand how the organization is performing financially.
Evaluation and the Nonprofit Board - July 5, 2023
Evaluations of both the nonprofit board and the Chief Executive should happen annually. This session will provide insight on how this should be conducted and tools to conduct evaluations of both so you can set goals for each to improve performance.
Effectively Govern and Strategically Plan - August 2, 2023
Learn how to effectively govern the organization and what role the board should have in planning for the short- and long-term future of the organization.
Mock Board Meeting - September 6, 2023
Participate in a mock board meeting to learn how to run a board meeting and what to discuss.
